The Government of Trinidad and Tobago has shared a decarbonisation goal for the domestic power generation industry. The Government’s decarbonisation strategy as part of the Paris climate agreement seeks to reduce carbon emissions by 15% by 2030 or 103Mt (metric tonnes) of which 28.7Mt (metric tonnes) corresponds to the power generation sector.
We are actively working to support this greener future by optimising the use of natural gas and as part of our reliability programme, our machinery is frequently evaluated and maintained to optimise fuel-efficient output. To support our corporate and national mandate we continue to explore viable opportunities including renewable energy to reduce our footprint.
