Annual Special Children's Fun Day

Thirty-six of our nation's Special Schools participated in PowerGen's 21st Annual Special Children's Fun Day. These included three schools from Tobago and one from Barbados. Over 2,000 of our nation's Special Children converged at our Penal Power Station's Sports Grounds on Wednesday 13th March, 2013.
The day started with a novelty march past as the schools paraded in a grand display of colour and splendour, marching to the tune of Super Blue’s 2013 Road March, "Fantastic Friday."

Guest of Honour at the event, Minister of Gender Affairs Marlene Coudray  joined our General Manager – Fitzroy Harewood, the Chairman of PowerGen Mr. Indarjit Singh and Board Member, John Rachford to take the salute and inspect the teams.

The Special Children participated in over thirty Track and Field, Obstacle and Novelty events and were treated to breakfast, lunch and refreshments. They were also entertained by Soca artiste Destra Garcia.
